Fáilte go hÉirinn! Welcome to Ireland! This program is for young adults who want to experience both intercultural learning opportunities and traditional Irish hospitality. A PLC course, or Post Leaving Certificate, is a one-year course normally more vocational in nature or for specific careers that do not require a degree and typically have an element of work experience.
Currently, we offer courses at two PLC colleges: Waterford College of Further Education and Drogheda Institute of Further Education. Students joining this program choose a PLC course they want to follow, for example:
- Technology & Design
- Business, IT & Humanities
- Services, leisure and tourism
- Community & health care
- Art & Design
- Journalism, Photography & New media
- Sports
- Tourism & Travel
- Animal care
Moreover, students on this program will have the opportunity to live in one of the 14 local communities which are located all around Ireland. You will live with host families in their local communities and will also attend a local college 5 days a week. You will also be supported by your Local Coordinator throughout your program to ensure that you have the best intercultural experience possible.
